1,015 different words can be built with the 37 beginning sounds cards and 56 ending sounds cards in the Word Builders™ Kit. For example: fun, hop, quit, chin, best, drank, game, hope, quite, play, flight, and sky.

The new Word Builders™ Kit was created by a classroom teacher who used it successfully with her students. It contains:

• Two decks of phonics playing cards. The red deck has 37 beginning sounds such as b, bl, br, c, ch, cl, cr, d, dr, t, th, tr, and w, plus two wild cards. The yellow deck has 56 ending sounds such as ab, ack, ad, ag, ail, ain, ake, ue, ug, um, ump, un, unk, ush, and y, plus two wild cards. The cards can be used as flash cards in the specially designed flash card box holder.
• Instructions for 12 different card games. The Word Builder™ cards can also be used to play 12 different card games so readers can practice reading skills in a social environment. In addition to a large variety of games, you can also use the cards to invent your own games. Some games are easy, some are challenging, and some are in-between. Games can be played by two, three, or four players, ranging from cooperative to competitive.
• A Word Checking Chart shows all 1,015 possible words that can be built. It also lists the frequency of each beginning and ending sound so players can easily see which ones are used more often. When students use the Word Checking Chart, they practice dictionary skills.
• Phonics in a Nutshell is a unique feature of the Word Builders Kit™. It is designed for teachers and parents and is a detailed chart of the 44 phonemes (sounds) in the English language. It includes alternative spellings of those sounds, comments about the phonemes, some words in which the phonemes are silent, and some comments about phonics.
